How it works

If you have never hired a skip before, the process can feel a bit overwhelming. Here’s how Haley’s Skip Hire gets the job done:

Ordering

1. Choose your skip size: If you are not sure which size you´ll need, please check Our Skips for guidance or Ask Brian for help!

2. Give us your location: Order your skip by giving us a call and let us know when and where you wish the skip to be dropped off. You may keep the skip up to 14 days.

Notes:

  • Extend time: If you need more time, just give us a call and we are more than happy to extend your hire.

Delivery

3. Drop off details: Let us know where you wish to place the skip and make sure there is suitable access for our vehicle to drop and pick up the skip. We will deliver the skip to you. You don’t have to be home for the delivery or pick up.

4. Payment: Payment will be required on delivery of the skip. We accept cash, debit/credit cards, cheques and bank transfers. We also have a portable card reader for your convenience.

Notes:

  • Permits: If the skip will be placed on a public road, pavement or grass verge, you will need a permit from your local council. We are more than happy to order the licence for you (extra charge of £25 for the permit will apply).

Usage

Notes:

  • Overfilling: Please do not overfill the skip. The waste should not exceed the height of the skip. Overfilled skips are dangerous to handle and illegal to transport, so if you realise you have more waste than expected, please give us a call to arrange for an earlier pick up or an additional skip to be delivered.

  • Prohibited items: Make sure you don’t put any prohibited or restricted items in the skip. Please see our FAQ for the prohibited and restricted items.

  • Don’t move the skip: Please do not attempt to move the skip; as you might injure yourself, cause damage to the skip or the wagon may not be in a position to pick it back up.

Pick up

5. We will pick up the skip after the agreed hire has ended or any time earlier at your request.

Notes:

  • How we dispose of the contents: The skip will be taken to be emptied at a licensed waste recycling facility, where the waste will be separated and treated. Everything will be disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible, and we aim to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill.
